Isn't it amazing how many "patriots" haven't travelled?
Velvet_Goth asked:
I would never say I am a patriotic scot. I am proud of the accomplishments of my country (facing facts, we invented flipping everything) and get homesick when I am away. To be a patriot though, it means you must prefer that country to anywhere else in the world. My husband is English but more of a scot than I will ever be because he CHOSE to live here, I just happened to be born here. I think you have to be well travelled to be a patriot. I much prefer the Irish countryside, the Indian family life, Japanese food, Indian art, Eastern music and Moroccan furniture. So how could I call myself a patriot? I live here, pay my taxes here but that's about it. I'm just amazed at the namber of people who are so patriotic about their country yet have never travelled outside of it. It's like saying you prefer white wine when you've never even tried red wine.
Bigger country=more airports than any other :p

I'm from the US. We've got a bigger country and more area to cover to get out. Ignorance is bliss for some, n'est ce pas?
