My aunt dated a guy from Morocco for a while (married him for a short bit actually).
I can't remember the names of any of it, as it was several years ago (they split up), but I enjoyed everything I tried, and I can be picky about what foods I eat/enjoy.
Actually, my aunt mentioned the other day that she was going to be making a Moroccan dish for our next get-together, so I'm excited!

I LOVE Morroccan food: great cous cous, tagines, bistilla, salads, batinjaan, gazelle horns, mint tea, harissa, marinated olives, preserved lemons… it's all wonderfully delicious!

love love love it…especially the dozen or so little dishes that you get before the main course (what is that called?)…we have tajines, but mostly use for decoration, haven't been adventurous enough to try to actually make one yet…the most expensive meal we had was actually in a French-owned restaurant in Marrakesh, had to look up the name "Le Comptoir", but we ate so well at other places too, in our riads (esp. the one in Fez, run by this *** French guy & his Moroccan boyfriend)….we were very well treated in Morocco and did our best to reciprocate by leaving lots of $ behind!

Oh yes, I love Moroccan food. I have a dear friend in Tunisia (Sidi Bou Said) that gave me a recipe for couscous that is wonderful. So many spices and so delicious. It was a Tunisian cookbook, but very much influenced by Morocaan cooking styles.
Comments on Moroccan food?
