planning a trip for disney world, need some advise?
boris t asked:
I am planning the trip for Spring Break 2009. And I have a tentative list of 4-10 people going. And I will have graduated from tech school by then.
1. Would I be able to even go?
2. Is it too early to make plans in advanced? so no one plans stuff for that week, and no one will be allowed to blow us off for stupid crap.
3. How much would it cost?
4. What would the best kind of Lodging be.
-Off DW campus, like a motel, or a generic Holiday inn sort dealy
-Fort Wilderness lodge
-suite
-Pop Century
-Grandpa Bobs.(Small house, and three residents.)
5. Best places to dine? interest in English, and Polynesian.
-Did Moroccan, food was OK, Boma, Flavors of Africa-Didnt like the African stuff, Tonys town square, annoying having to say "Thats amore." every 3 seconds. Hoop de doo review-didnt like the show that much, food was average, and building was cold.
6. How are the crowds at that time of year?
7. Would it be better to go before Easter, or after? Since before Easter is Holy week, and the group is very religious. I’m available any time, in the tentative group, 2 highschoolers, 1 college, and one out of school.
8. Should I get together with my relatives down there? There my relatives, and not the groups. Plus they’ve been in town and not visited us. But what would be better, blow them off, go to their house, or meet at a Disney restaurant?

Comments on planning a trip for disney world, need some advise?
The answer to most of those questions is in the book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World." Trust me — this will save you so many headaches and hassles!!! I've used it, loaned it to friends, etc., and it is perfect!
If you want to book online it is probably to early. here's a website that might help Would you be opposed to a cruise? As for the relatives just let them know you will be in town and wait for an invite.
check out and also hopefully this will help in your planning.
But with Disney World right now it seems the earlier you plan the better.
I would check out this website:
They have very reasonable packages for off the property resorts. Renting a villa might be cheaper though. Here is another great website that has great pics of hotels, prices, park hours and attraction info.
I would try to go before Easter since the crowds are lighter then. Also remember if you stay on the property you get to stay longer at the parks and take advantage of more benefits. Good luck and have fun!
Spring break time will be busy and every place has different spring break times so most of April is a busy time. If people are religious go after Easter.
First you need to set dates and get the number of people going, you can get an idea of price at the Disney website, click travel and WDW.
Book your stay with Disney to stay on Disney property. Cost will depend on where you are staying and how many people, you can get 4 people at Pop right now for 7 days $1600.00, that same number of people and days at the Poly over $6000.00 so you need to decied on how much to spend.Once you have everyone "in" on the deal call Disney to book and put down the $200.00 deposit, if more than 4 people you will be booking multipal rooms. Then collect from everyone else, set a date everyone must pay by or they are dropped from the trip, if you dont do this the flakes will cause you problems, realize the more people the cheaper it is so if you book a room for four people and one drops the price for the other three goes up. You can even get the price, divide it by number of people and get the money before you book so theres no problems with flakes. But call to book and ask about discounts (especially if you have a large group) and there are many benifits to staying on property.
Skip the relatives, your on vacation, see them another time, especially grandpa bobs.
Food, the Poly resort has Hawaiian BBQ, just about anywhere at EPCOT, I also like Rainforest Cafe by AK and Liberty Tree at MK, Sci Fi Drive in at MGM, theres so many choices its hard to choose.
If your on a budget price pop for your group of four, get the money up front and call to book, make deposit and pay the rest. If more people want to go give then the phone number and dates and let them book themselves, Hit the parks at opening, have a game plan, use fastpass, take your time and have fun.
florida *****. just go to west seneca. its a small town in new york with lots of fun things to do, energetic people, and good weather
It is not too early to start planning and getting commitments from people but it is too early to make reservations.
Cost will vary depending on the number of people going and the length of the trip.
The decision to stay on property or off will best be decided by whether or not you'll have transportation. For example - if you had up to 8 people and a rental car, I would recommend a Condo Windsor Hills. It is very economical and very nice but you do need a car. You're all pretty young - if no one is over 25, renting a car will be expensive.
If a car isn't an option, staying on Disney property is probably a very good idea. Ft. Wilderness Cabins will accomodate up to six and you'll have a kitchen available. The value resorts may be cheaper if you're not doing any of your own cooking.
After Easter will certainly be less crowded than before but will that work for the high schoolers and college students?
I have a travel agency specializing in Disney travel and would be happy to help.
All I can say to you is:
AAA
They were wonderful when we planned our Disney trip, answered - or found answers - to all my questions, and undercut the lowest price I found by several hundred dollars, and they have a good trip cancellation insurance.
go to that's how i planned my trip–best site out there–call disney in march they may not have pricing out for 2009 yet~~~~~~
