I have a cholocate headboard and pine furniture, what can I do with the furniture to make it flow better?

moroccan furniture
jonel p asked:

The headboard is Moroccan style and the Dresser & Night stands are pine. I was considering painting the furniture to match the headboard would that be a good idea? What products should be used? The good news is that the bed is set back from the sitting room were the furniture is located. What would be a great color for the walls? I want to create a warm feeling. I have a sitting room off the bedroom which has two green chairs . Help!

Hi, I would use chocolate brown accessories instead of painting the furniture.
You could maybe put cream throws on the chairs and darker brown cushions.
I would paint the walls in a lovely mocha colour. we have this sort of theme in our house and it flows really well.
Hope ive helped xxx

On the wall that the head board stand paint a contrast color to bring it out>a tone from the grain of your pine. Add chocolate in lamps and accessories and complimentary colors to accents reds, terra cotta, celery teal etc. Strong contrast plums and eggplant. which ever fits your mood

Someone once said " the trees in the forest are different they do not match and yet they belong there" but what they didn't say was that the wood was different but not the foliage and this made all those different types of wood belong. you need to make things work by adding a few colours of your own to make a statement, you said that you have 2 green chairs in the room do you have a bed spread that has green in it ? or any other colour that you could pick out I will look if I can find something to give you an idea it might not be green chairs that I find but you will get the idea .

Here is one !
you could use this example , it has the green and you could paint the walls into the caramel colour

You have a couple of options: You could stain the pine furniture with a chocolate brown stain (it's like a paint but makes wood darker), or you can tie in more browns to match the headboard and throw brown pillows/fabrics on the pine furniture. I would paint the walls cream or tan, I would even go with a dull turquoise and tie the room all together.
